Thermal activation in Permalloy nanorectangles at room temperature

چکیده
The effect of thermal activation in planar Permalloy nanorectangles of thickness Lz 1⁄4 2:5 nm, width Ly 1⁄4 20nm and different in plane aspect ratios (r 1⁄4 Lx=Ly) has been analyzed assuming uniform magnetization in the sample at room temperature. The relaxation times were computed by integrating the Langevin equation in presence of external fields that reduce the energy barrier separating the two energy minima. From these data we obtain the pre-exponential factor in the Arrhenius formula for each aspect ratio. That allows us to estimate the relaxation time in the absence of external field. A minimum aspect ratio of r 1⁄4 3:25 is required for a lifetime larger than 100 years, which is a commonly accepted stability criterion. r 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. متن کاملNonadiabatic spin torque investigated using thermally activated magnetic domain wall dynamics.
Using transmission electron microscopy, we investigate the thermally activated motion of domain walls (DWs) between two positions in Permalloy (Ni80Fe20) nanowires at room temperature. We show that this purely thermal motion is well described by an Arrhenius law, allowing for a description of the DW as a quasiparticle in a one-dimensional potential landscape. By injecting small currents, the po...

Abstract:A combination of mechanical activation and Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) together with X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and various microstractural characterization techniques were used to evaluate the starting reaction in the combustion synthesis of TiC-Al2O3 composite in TiO2-Al-C system. The mechanical activation was performed on the mixtures of two components of TiO2/Al, Al/C and ...

The Knoevenagel condensation of aromatic aldehydes with barbituric acid, dimedone and malononitrile occurred in the presence of BF3/nano-γ-Al2O3 at room temperature in ethanol. This catalyst is characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and energy-disper...
متن کاملFerromagnetic vortex core switching at elevated temperatures
An approach for the investigation of vortex core switching is presented. Thermal effects up to the Curie point are included in a micromagnetic framework based on the recently developed Landau-Lifshitz-Bloch equation. In this approach it is easier to avoid numerical discretization artifacts, commonly present when a Bloch point is mediating the switching process. Switching in thin circular permal...
